Wedding Showcase: Stephany and Tim

A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of meeting blushing bride, Stephany, and do makeup for her wedding.

I think that Stephany’s wedding story is quite a special one.  Just days before her wedding, I receive a call from Stephany, she had just weeks to plan her wedding and was in need of a makeup artist to help make sure she would look perfect on the day of her wedding. I was so glad to say I was available to help her. We didn’t have any time to meet for a trial session so I worked with her over phone and e-mail to decide on the best look for her, as well as her bridesmaid and best friend, Alesha.

Stephany’s wedding dress was actually pink, yes, pink! I loved how unique that was, from that moment I knew that Stephany had a young and fun spirit and wanted to make sure I could portray that through her makeup with a fresh and modern style. On the day of her wedding, Stephany and bridesmaid, Alesha, were getting ready at her hairstylist, Jama’s house.  Jama is an amazing stylist and specializes in highlights/foils, she had been doing Stephany’s hair for a long time, and she had done bridesmaid Alesha’s hair as well; part of Jama’s home is converted into an awesome salon space, and services clientele from all over her area on the Eastside.

While we were getting ready, Stephany told me a little more about her love story with her fiance (and now husband, Tim). I was surprised to find out that although they have known each other for years, they have only seen each other in person for a total of a few months! Tim serves in the military and was often deployed, despite the long distance and short amounts of time they got to spend together they stayed committed and made it work. They had started planning for marriage and a wedding a few times before, but  kept getting delayed. Then one weekend not too long ago, Stephany receives a call from Tim, he has a long weekend when he will be home, and he wants for them to get married when he gets back! It was finally going to happen, and they only had weeks to prepare compared to the months or years other couples have, but with thanks to Stephany’s best friend Alesha, and her mom, they were able to pull the wedding off.

For both Stephany and Alesha’s eye makeup, I used Urban Decay’s Naked and Naked 2 palette. Stephany wanted a soft and fresh look, with a little added drama. Because her dress and style was so fun, I played with nudes and peaches on her lips, cheeks, and eyes. After priming her eyelids with Urban Decay’s eyeshadow primer potion, I swept a soft glittery golden peach (chopper) across her lid, and highlighted and blended under her brow and corner of her eyes with a matte cream (foxy). For depth and drama I added a darker bronze color (busted) along the corner and crease of her eyelid. To finish her eyes I lined the top lash line with a dark brown, waterproof eyeliner, and topped off her lashes with a black water proof mascara. I also put on a few extra individual eyelashes to add a little flair. For her lips I used a long-lasting lipcolor from Makeup Forever (one of my favorite lines), it was a nude with just a hint of pink and a satin finish. See below for Stephany’s finished look!

For Bridesmaid Alesha, we chose a soft smokey eye to compliment her darker features. I chose bronze and metallic colors for her eyes, and stuck with soft nudes for her cheeks and lips. I also added a few extra eyelashes to her eyes as well. Here’s a photo I took of Alesha and Stephany when we were all finished.

Stephany generously shared some photos from her wedding day in gorgeous North Bend, keep scrolling down to view them! We also have a few “behind the scenes” shots as well!

It was such a beautiful day, I’m so glad everything went perfectly for her and her husband. Stephany and Tim will soon be moving to North Carolina to start their new life together as husband and wife, I wish them the best of luck with everything!

What a great Blog!! thank you so much, this day was so special to me, and you took a lot of weight off my shoulders by helping have a timeless look in my photos that will last forever. Although I am moving to NC in about a week, I hope to one day work with you again in the future, and may this bring you many more blushing brides, you truly captured the magic, and the look i was going for. Even following my silly request with bringing my beauty marks out around my lips for added personality 🙂 thank you and tahnks again.
